LITERACY STATIONS

Literacy Stations are really frustrating if you don't have strong activities at each station.  It's important to start small and do just what you're comfortable with.  I realize that administrators and curriculum specialists want you "all in" from the beginning, but if it's going to work well in your room, you have to take it a section at a time.

Here is a great blog that shows one way to implement stations. This method is one where all the station activities are really housed in one area and students take the basket back to their seat. Set a location in your room. Decide on a manageable number of activities. Create a station chart. Pair your students up on your station chart. Set the timer and they are off and running.
